Osezaki Beach Bash July 12/13 |
|

Bam...Up close and personal with one of many lionfish we encoutered on the weekend. |
|

There's no end to the number of skilled and dignified divers one can meet at Osezaki. |

We did it again. Out third Osezaki gathering for the year was unqualified fun. The sun was out with a vengeance and everyone got a bit toasted around the edges. The water was actually a bit cooler than usual, and vis was poor especially near the surface. However, we has some good photos staying near the bottom where the action was at.
A few individuals progressed on their training path and some good advanced work, and enjoyable dives were had by all. |

Oshima Island Escape June 27-29
 |
|

Congratulations to new NAUI Master Diver Guido |

As always, we rule the beach. DDT divers did an average of 6 dives on the weekend. We were able to dive all 4 of the major dive sites and saw sharks, rays, squid, octopus and all kinds of smaller stuff. Guido finished up his NAUI Master Diver and Marylka celebrated her birthday in Style. In all, it was an awesome Oshima weekend. We plan to have this escape once a month from September. See our Face Book group for more photos. |

The rain was torrential, but DDT still ruled the beach. We had a bit of everything going on: all kinds of recreational diving, OW/AOW and DM training...and lots of good times.
We have this event once a month...come join the good times away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. |

Miraculously, Saturday was an island of nice weather in a week of rain. New friends and old joined us for a day trip to Izu Ocean Park. Some of DM trainees were on hand to step up to the plate and take charge of dive leading. Viz down to 20 meters was mediocre due to the week of rough weather and the entry/exit was a usual pain, but good dives were had anyway, and the far wall was well worth the trip as usual.
Congratulations to Anton, who became a certified diver on this trip, and to Sherry, Reece, Michele and Wendy who all did their first dives in Japan. |

Leon earns the NAUI Master Diver certification |
|
Despite some crazy wind and waves in the early am on Saturday, things actually calmed down quite well later in the day and Sunday was spectacular. Open Water diver training resumed, and we had Master diver candidates as well as DM candidates honing their skills.
Congratulations to Leon, who received his NAUI Master Diver Card, and also won the adoration of every female in the dive party (with one notable exception).

Yugawara Rescue Feb. 16 |
|
We had a great group of 4 for this course. It's always a pleasure as an instructor to work with skilled and motivated divers. Everyone shined by the end of the day, at which point we engaged in an O2 workshop with beers and then took Rescue exams.
Part 2 (Open Water Phase) date TBA, location Osezaki.

Sorry, no picture this time. It was great to seem some familiar faces in the winter. All participants tuned up their buoyancy after the long break. Johan completed his requirements for NAUI Advanced (congratulations). |
